This was already the case at the beginning of the 19th century, when city architects deliberately planned green spaces to give the cityscape a splendid appearance. Wiesbaden has changed over the years, but the green spaces and especially the trees still characterize the face of the city. The linear rows of trees around the city were intended to structure the cityscape and at the same time provide pleasant shade for the paths, delight with their blossoms and give the architecture a decorative and invigorating framework.

The RMCC is just a 5-minute walk from the main train station and is separated from it by the lush green Herbert and Reisinger Park, home to ducks and Egyptian geese. The 3.4-hectare park provides a direct connection from the main train station to downtown and also serves as a backdrop for your event if it takes place in the Terrassensaal.
The Kurhaus not only offers the usual historical ambience for your event, but also a special feel-good atmosphere: you can meet and celebrate virtually "in the park". Large windows in the Salon Carl Schuricht and in the Muschelsaal offer you a view of the green spaces on the Nizzaplätchen and a backdrop of the Kurpark and Kurparkweiher! And with our beautiful light-flooded conservatory, you also have an adjoining terrace directly in the spa gardens. The terrace is all yours and can be used as you wish, whether as an extension of the indoor area, as a space for a catering or flying buffet or simply to enjoy the atmosphere and the view of the park with your guests.
Even more greenery awaits you at Jagdschloss Platte - an event location on the Taunus ridge 500 meters above the city in the Rhine-Taunus Nature Park. You are welcome to use the associated outdoor area for a reception or wedding celebration. A special highlight is a viewing platform on the upper floor under the glass roof construction: from there you can enjoy a fantastic view of the state capital of Wiesbaden and the green Rhine Valley.
Tree protection in Wiesbaden
Trees, however, are not only a visual delight but also essential to the urban climate. They are true air purifiers, cool the surrounding area, reduce dust levels, and create habitats. Trees also help keep noise away from us. Even a single tree noticeably dampens noise, and a 20- to 25-meter-wide strip of trees has a similar effect to a noise barrier.
To preserve, safeguard, and further develop this environment in the long term, the new Tree Protection Ordinance for the state capital of Wiesbaden was adopted in February 2007.
The goal of this ordinance is to preserve Wiesbaden’s tree population in order to safeguard the cityscape and the urban climate in the long term. This goal is in line with the interests of the city’s residents. For this reason, the Tree Protection Ordinance allows for exceptions to tree protection in justified cases. As a general rule, however, once a tree has been removed with approval, a replacement tree must be planted to compensate for its loss.
